Dermalogica Prism Protect* (Gifted)

I feel like it's only recently that people have be starting to use a daily SPF but apparently pollution is just as damaging to our skin as sun damage. Pollution causes harm to your body's natural protective layer, meaning you are at risk to things such as wrinkles, dull skin tone and dark spots. The scary thing is that unlike sun damage you cannot see an instant effect - e.g you don't get sunburn and turn red with pollution. UV damage and pollution is such a harmful combination for your skin and something you can't really get away from. People are so conscious about ageing and wrinkles but if you're not protecting your natural barrier you're going to show signs of ageing! A lot of people are using strong acids like AHA, BHA & retinol so with things like this you need to make sure you are protecting by using SPF!

A lot of my beauty products (including my moisturiser + foundation) have an SPF already included in them but I also like to use an extra SPF after moisturising. This is something I know I should have been doing for a while but like many other people I've been lazy. However this is something I am not trying to stick to, especially being in my mid-twenties this is the time I need to make sure I'm looking after my skin. So when this Dermalogica Prism Protect landed on my doorstep, I was super excited to give it a test out. As you can see from the images it has been a very well loved product in my makeup bag! How I would use this would be after moisturising, apply this, then apply a primer and then would start on my makeup. It is quite hydrating to the skin but would still use a moisturiser to give my skin the hydration and a nice base pre makeup. This stuff has such a nice glow to it as well, so I would even suggest wearing it on no makeup days as it gives you a lovely fresh face.

I think we will be seeing more and more anti-polluation based skincare products coming onto the market like we have done with SPF.
