Glamglow Supermud Mask / Glossier Super Pure / Origins Super Spot Remover / Dermalogica Pre-cleanse / Kiehls Skin Rescuer
I am a skincare fanatic. For me my ideal evening (and how I spend 85% of my weeknights) is masking. I tend to always post at least one story a week on my 'gram with my skincare routine or pamper session - I tend to stick to the same routine but will continually switch up products. Obviously there are a few cult favourites that I return back to on a daily basis, like this and this. But sometimes you always need to give your skin that extra love and attention it needs. So these would be the products I use, especially when my skin is breaking out and it needs a bit of an extra zap.
Glamglow Supermud Mask
I basically used this three times last week and felt like it really cleared up my skin. Whenever I am having bad skin weeks I tend to use a charcoal or clay mask to detoxify and clean up my face. I like the Origins charcoal mask but I find that really brings out my spots, so it's one of those masks that it needs to get worse before it gets better. So would tend to use that on a Monday in preparation of having clear skin for the weekend. With this Supermud mask, you only need a thin layer and it really tingles which I always think is a good sign because I feel like something is happening. There great thing about Supermud is you can see it drying and all your pores come through like dark dots - a bit gross but you know when you're done and you are left with super clean and smooth skin.
Glossier Super Pure Serum
I bought this on a whim on my first Glossier order (not going to lie I gave into the Instagram hype and wanted it on my shelf). I do love using a serum as an ultimate TLC to your skin, it just feels like it's that final step and more luxurious that just your normal + simple routine. This particular serum is meant to be controlling sebum and helping you prevent breakouts and I just feel like it works. I would always moisture after using serums as I find them to be quite drying on the skin. It has niacinamide in which basically soothes your skin to get rid of redness.
Origins Super Spot Remover
Now I still don't know if I prefer the Mario Badescu drying lotion over this but what I like with this Origins one is you can pop it on let it dry and then put your makeup on and face the day. It acts like a sort of smooth base (sticker like) so it will tackle the spot but also protect/cover so you can hide it! Plus the bottle is so small and cute, I just can't cope!
Dermalogica Pre-cleanse
Oh man, I LOVE Dermalogica products. So I recently became a #Skinfulencer for the brand, which basically means they send me some of their products every so often to get my feedback on what I like and then can share with you guys. I had never really tried the brand before because of the high price point but oh boy, they have me hooked! The products are all very clean and simple, when you use them you don't feel like you're just putting a lot of chemicals on your face it actually just feels like nice natural product. I know the bottles can be expensive but they last ages! Considering I got the Gel Cleanser over 3 months ago, I probably have another month or two left in the bottle - and thats using it everyday! So anyway back to the Pre-Cleanse - now I bloody love cleansers and they are probably one of my most bought products as I like to use different types from gels to oils to balms. So when I saw there was such thing as a PRE cleanser I was sold. Now this is basically a really runny oil that you squirt out and rub all over your face (blimey that was a bit innuendo bingo). It just allows all of your makeup from the day to dissolve very quickly. I would tend to use this and then go in with the cleansing gel to make sure my face is super squeaky clean. I'm all about that double cleanse life.
Kiehls Skin Rescuer
Gotta love a skin rescuing moisturiser. Now fun fact for you, as much as I am a skincare junkie I was never really down for moisturising. Don't get me wrong my OG was the Clinique DDML, which I would use everyday before I put on makeup but I never really used it at any other point of my day or routine. I have oily skin so always thought it would make it worse but oh boy was I wrong. Now there's nothing better than getting into bed and using a thick old luxurious moisturiser to make my skin feel plumped and revived. This Kiehls one just feels like it's quite thick and does a lot for your skin once you've put it on. It is a great travel item to have when your dehydrated and want to help your skin out a bit!
